View Photo »We are so excited to have Brandon to help provide leadership on our team from the point guard position ... He is a physically strong defender who displayed the abilities to lead, direct and drive a team on the offensive end of the court. He is a tremendous communicator who thinks like a coach on the flo...
Jay is a very enthusiastic and competitive player who plays the game with a huge chip on his shoulder that Frost Heave fans will enjoy ... Jay displayed an ability to lead his team on both ends of the floor with only one concern: winning. While he may not be large in stature, he is large where it counts...
I really liked the school ... I liked the team, the coaches and the players. I feel like I could fit in there. I just got one of those gut feelings.
They said my height was important, and they liked my outside shot and footwork
She's improved her outside shooting ... She's capable of knocking down a 3-pointer, but that 15-footer is very good. She likes that turnaround jumper, but she's learning to use the glass more down low. I think she can go up there and contribute.
I'm looking forward to playing at a Division I school
You look at the history of our program, there’s always been high expectations
More importantly, I think the general them is just geting better. Coach Chambers has come in and preached that message since day one.
Our seniors have been through a lot ... Sometimes, it’s some (self-) induced pressure, but more importantly, this time around I’m getting the sense from them they are just going to try and play and let that speak for itself. Not worry about the expectations, not worry about the crowd, let’s worry about ...
Absolutely, we’re excited he decided to stay ... Obviously, he can stretch you with the 3-pointer and he can also post up. It’s a huge deal for us.
Tyler Morris looks great ... I think we’ll have a very good backcourt.
Coach Chambers is an intense man
There have been continuing incidents of concern related to the men's basketball program that do not measure up to Binghamton University's high standards
I said to my team at halftime that we were not losing this game
I like taking big shots. I hate losing, basically.
When Morgan decided to go zone, we looked like we never saw zone before ... We have a zone offense and we were looking to execute that. We just didn't do a good enough job of that. We have to move better.
It was two different halves for us ... I was really disappointed in my team at halftime. We just kind of lost our way. We didn't focus, and sometimes that happens when you are growing as a team. They have to find their own way, and that is what they did.
It was a reality check ... That was good. It made people take a step back and realize what we're given. It's easy to get lost in it all. It helped our team.
I feel prepared ... I worked really hard this summer to be in the best shape I've ever been in. The freshmen, Alex [Hall] and Daphne [Elliott], and [sophomore] Ilicia Mathis — all the guards we have are great. I may be in the starting role, but it can be taken away like that. That competitiveness, that ...
People would say to me, 'You had such a great year last year, you beat Duke,' ... It was not a bad year, but a disappointing year. If we hadn't beat Duke, maybe ... I don't know. It was like we set the bar so high so early, nothing was good enough. Somebody said this year, 'Man, last year, all we talked...
I’m hoping they mix and match because that’s going to force us to think and react ... It gives us an opportunity to work against man-to-man and also work against zone. I’m not sure it’s a matter of what Syracuse does. I’m more concerned about what we do. Getting a shot every time down the floor and not ...
I’m expecting them to play a little bit of man, not too much ... I’m expecting them to play 2-3 because that’s all I’ve seen them play growing up. If they play the zone, it’ll be a really great test for all of us. We’ve been shooting well in practice. We’ve just got to let it carry over.
What we need to realize is, a 2-3 zone we see against Syracuse is going to be a little different than a 2-3 zone we see against Hartford or New Hampshire because of the length and the size
Can we keep those two big fellas off the glass?
If you watched films of him last year and watch film of him against Le Moyne, it’s two different players ... He’s not 100 percent. He’s still good enough to have a major impact on our game. I think that they have as good of a frontcourt when healthy as any team in the Big East. They’re huge up front.
